The network storage power of FileStar exceeds 1PiB, and the number of active miners has grown over 30. The next move of the FileStar Foundation is to support Intel miners.

The FileStar mainnet has been lived for five days, and various functions such as network block generation and transactions are running smoothly. For more details, please check the FileStar browser.

Within five days, the network storage power has exceeded 1 PiB, over 30 miners have joined the network for mining, and the network storage power is still increasing.

In the past five days, the FileStar Foundation has also conducted STAR airdrops to users holding FIL on Whale Stock Exchange and Gate.io, and airdrops to miner accounts in the Filecoin network. For more details, please read the previous article.

FileStar has no private placement, no pre-mining and pledge collateral, and a block generation threshold of 32GiB, which is more fair and transparent to miners.

The next development goal of FileStar has been proposed in SIP-0001. The options under consideration are as bellow :

  • Support smaller Sectors, such as 8GiB Sector.
  • Extend the restriction on the sealing time to allow Intel miners to participate.
  • Change the hash algorithm supported by PC1 so that Intel devices have the same efficiency as AMD devices.

Modifying and replacing the algorithm requires some time for experimentation and testing, and we will report the progress to the community as soon as possible. It is welcome to comment under SIP-0001 or propose a new SIP.

Besides, FileStar also launched the first phase of the Bounty Program with a total of 200,000 US dollars (for more details, please check here.) For participation, you can submit the completed product via email (bounty@filestar.net / dev@filestar.net).
